Hello there! My name is Michael Peterson or Mike. I've been practicing the art of blade smithing for almost 30 years now, and it's all thanks to my father Chris Peterson, who taught me the basics of his trade when I was only 10 years old.

 

As a custom knife-maker, I specialize in hand-made Damascus steel, forged to individual shapes using traditional methods and tools.

 

All of my knives are handmade from forge to finish, with bolsters made from high-quality materials such as German Silver or 410 Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper.

The various types of Damascus Steel I use are Random Patterned Damascus forged from 01 Tool Steel and A36 Mild Steel, Raindrop Damascus, Twist Damascus, Cable Damascus, and Chain Saw Chain/Motorcycle Chain Damascus. Another Steel I use is 5160.

One other thing that's important to me is that I come from a lineage of craftsmen & bladesmiths and I strongly believe in keeping that tradition alive. That's why I'm proud to teach my daughter Daisy Peterson to be a bladesmith and pass on this craft to the next generation!
